The First ENTAN Conference, titled “Non-Territorial Autonomy as a Form of Plurinational Democracy: Participation, Recognition, reconciliation“ was held in Belgrade, Serbia on 22-23 November 2019. It was organised together with the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade. The Conference gathered more than 60 scholars who presented their papers in fourteen panels. Keynote lecture entitled “Non-Territorial Autonomy in Plurinational States: The Time Has Come” was delivred by Prof. Ephraim Nimni. Panels were devoted to different topics related to non-territorial autonomy, including the theoretical framework and its implications, states and minorities’ relations, language and autonomy, integration, contemporary perspectives and specific examples of NTA in various countries in Europe and beyond. The Conference offered a fruitful ground for exchange of views and future cooperation among researchers interested in the concept and application of non-territorial autonomy.
