Maria Antón i Álvarez de Cienfuegos: “The STSM was a productive and fascinating experience, although it was carried out under Covid-19 restrictions. My main aim was to gather knowledge about the current sociolinguistic situation regarding the diglossia between the majority language, English, and the autochthonous minoritised languages: Gaelic and Scots. My framework was based on fifty semi-structured interviews. I have had the opportunity to compare the results with the Catalan’s situation for more reflection. This was the first visit to Scotland and I would develop future researches and collaborations in this territory. I would like to thank ENTAN and the University of Edinburgh for making this project possible, and also the fifty volunteers for participating in this research.”
